Poker Profiles: Tuan Le

Tuan Le has had a rich mix of culture running in his veins both by genetics and by experience. He is of Vietnamese descent, was born in Paris, France on February 15, 1978, was raised in Kansas City, Missouri, and is currently based in Los Angeles, California. Tuan was schooled in John Burroughs Junior High School and in California State University. He has got a degree in Finance.

Tuan got his first taste of Poker when he entered a $20/$40 Limit Hold'em event at the Hustler Casino. As soon as he developed his own style and strategy, he took flight to enter more prestigious tournaments like the World Poker Tour. In the 2004 WPT series, Tuan cashed in $1.5 million by winning his very first event. He toppled off that record when he came out the ultimate winner of WPT's Season 3 championship the following year.

That 2005 WPT series got him $2.8 million richer. But that's not all. Tuan also beat Eli Elezra at the final table of WPT's Battle of Champions event. While most players are busy making a killing at the World Series of Poker tournament, Tuan finds his star shining brighter at the WPT. After that back-to-back wins in 2004 and 2005, Tuan became WPT's all time money winner. However, Daniel Negreanu overtaken his record some time after. But heck, that is still a huge achievement for such a new player!

Tuan acknowledges Poker great Barry Greenstein to be his mentor. He practically learned everything he knows about poker through his book, Ace on the River. His aggressiveness at the Poker table is mostly what fellow players and Poker fans would remember him for. He is never afraid to take risks. He is never afraid to give up his money to the pot. As a result, he has become one of the successful money players around. For sure, there is a lot more waiting for a wonderful player like Tuan. Who knows? Maybe in the coming years he would be able to count a WSOP bracelet as part of his credentials. Such a great skill deserves good breaks. Tuan is just waiting in line for more good things to come!

While Tuan is not busy playing cards, he is getting active at the badminton and tennis courts. Badminton and tennis are two of his favorite recreational sports, which he is good at. He also wiles away time enjoying music, especially the rap kind.
